Level of compliancy

The Ala Dea Dancing website has been created to comply with the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0. This website meets level 3 of the W3C guidelines, reaching the AAA compliance standard.

Current and additional content will be monitored by the webmaster and Marisa Ala Dea to ensure the level AAA compliance standard is upheld. By providing a fully accessible website, Ala Dea Dancing ensures all users, including those with disabilities, learning difficulties or those using older equipment, can access the site’s content.

To maximise usability of the website, the following W3C suggestions have been implemented:

  • Text equivalents are included for all non-text elements
  • Stylesheets are used for layout and presentation and, when disabled, pages degrade gracefully
  • An alternative stylesheet is supplied for older browsers
  • Relative font sizes are used to allow easy resizing of text
  • Content can be accessed when scripts are disabled and alternatives to script-powered content are available
  • The website uses valid XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS 2.1
  • Clear navigation helps orientate the user on the site
